Guster pumps up tour plans behind new album

Guster works the club circuit well into the fall as part of its ongoing support for its recently released set, "Keep It Together."

Dates for the outing, the latest leg of which kicked off earlier this month, now stretch into early November. Pre-sale tickets for some dates area available through the group's Guster Ticketing service.

The Boston-based alt-pop trio strives to make its shows all-ages affairs. It was because of this that Guster scrapped a planned Sept. 8 stop in Lexington, KY, according to a message posted at the group's website.

"The show we announced for September 8th isn't just not happening on September 8th, it's not happening at all," reads the message. "The club pulled some 21+ crap on us and we walked. We stick up for the kids. Except in Milwaukee, where our Marquette show is 18+ and we could care less about the kids."

Guster is on the road behind its fourth album, "Keep It Together," which hit stores in June and debuted at No. 35 on The Billboard 200 album chart. The set, produced by Roger Moutenot (Yo La Tengo, Josh Rouse) and Ron Aniello (Ian Hunter), also had a run as the most-downloaded rock album on Apple's iTunes Music Store, and as the No. 2 most-downloaded album on iTunes overall.

"Keep It Together" is the follow up to Guster's 1999 set, "Lost and Gone Forever." The group recorded the new album between November 2001 and February 2003.

Streaming versions of a number tracks from "Keep It Together" are posted at Guster's website.
