Bonus disc goes to early buyers of Dave Matthews' solo album
The bonus CD includes five previously unreleased tracks that were recorded live during Matthews' 2003 tour with frequent collaborator Tim Reynolds. The bonus disc will be available only with the initial run of "Some Devil" CDs.
Fans who pre-order the album through Matthews' website will also receive a free Dave Matthews Band sticker.
According to a press release, Matthews allows fans to tape his solo performances, as well as the frequent appearances he makes with Reynolds. However, other than the 1999 album "Live at Luther College," no official Matthews/Reynolds board mixes have been offered before.
Stephen Harris, who turned the knobs on the Dave Matthews Band's "Busted Stuff," produced "Some Devil."
Among the guest musicians on the new album are Reynolds and Phish guitarist Trey Anastasio. Bassist Tony Hall (Bob Dylan, The Neville Brothers, Willie Nelson) and drummer Brady Blade Jr. (Emmylou Harris, Steve Earle, Chris Whitley) also make appearances.
The Dave Matthews Band is currently in the final month of its summer tour.
