Liz Phair maps more than a dozen new club dates

Liz Phair , who this summer ended a four-year respite from touring, returns to the North American club circuit in November.

Phair's new run of North American dates, which covers 13 cities in 20 days, will follow her late-September/early-October tour of Europe.

The former lo-fi rocker is touring behind her self-titled fourth album, which surfaced in June. She enlisted slick producers and several guest musicians for the set, including Mike Elizondo (Dr. Dre's bassist and co-writer/producer of 50 Cent's hit "In Da Club"), drummer Matt Chamberlain (Tori Amos, The Wallflowers), bassist Wendy Melvoin (Prince and the Revolution) and Pete Yorn.

"Liz Phair" peaked at No. 27 on The Billboard 200 album chart and its first single, "Why Can't I"--produced and co-written by The Matrix (Avril Lavigne)--topped out at No. 15 on the Adult Top 40 chart.

Phair's official website houses a streaming version of "Why Can't I?," and also features a seven-minute montage of all 14 tracks from the new album.

Fans who purchase "Liz Phair" are also able to download a free, five-song EP titled "Comeandgetit" by inserting the CD into a computer and accessing a special website.

Phair appears on the public radio program "The World Cafe with David Dye" on Sept. 12.
