Briefly: Fleetwood Mac, Vida Blue, Guided by Voices, KZLA bash, 'Grand Ole Opry Live'
Classic rockers Fleetwood Mac have added a Los Angeles appearance to their fall itinerary.
The newly announced show is set for Oct. 13 at the Staples Center. The tour resumes in Biloxi, MS, on Saturday (9/6).
Vida Blue --a group led by Phish's Page McConnell that also features bassist Oteil Burbridge (The Allman Brothers Band) and drummer Russell Batiste (Funky Meters)--releases its second album, "The Illustrated Band," on Oct. 14.
Bassist Tim Tobias has departed indie-rock group Guided by Voices , according to the band's official website.
"Guided by Voices would like to announce that Chris Slusarenko (Sprinkler, Svelt, Off Records) will be playing bass for the band on all the upcoming US tour dates and Sam Powers (Superdrag) will be handling bass duties for the upcoming European tour," the announcement reads.
Kid Rock (with special guests), Lonestar , LeAnn Rimes, Trick Pony, Joe Nichols, The Derailers and others are scheduled to appear at KZLA Country Bash 2003. The Los Angeles-area country station's festival takes place on Oct. 11 at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre in Irvine, CA.
Effective on Oct. 4, the weekly "Grand Ole Opry Live" music series will jump from its longtime home at Country Music Television to the Great American Country network.
