The Strokes line up concert dates to back 'Room on Fire'
New York rockers The Strokes have begun to lay out plans for an October-November tour to back their second album, "Room on Fire," which is due in stores on Oct. 21.
As of press time, just a half-dozen tour stops--among them Philadelphia, Baltimore, Detroit and Houston--had emerged via the group's official website. More dates are expected.
According to the website, tickets will go on sale in some markets on Friday (9/5) and Saturday (9/6).
Gordon Raphael, who produced The Strokes' critically acclaimed 2001 debut, "Is This It," was again behind the board for "Room on Fire."
The new album contains 11 tracks, including the single "12:51," which already is getting airplay on many alternative-rock radio stations. Roman Coppola, who directed videos for the group's previous album, also directed the clip for "12:51."
Many of the songs on "Room on Fire" have been a part of The Strokes' live set for more than a year.
The group initially began recording "Room on Fire" with producer Nigel Godrich (Radiohead), but those sessions were eventually scrapped.
