Dylan, Phil And Friends Tour Details Finalized

Plans for a mini-tour featuring Bob Dylan and Phil Lesh And Friends were confirmed Thursday (9/16) by Dylan's camp, along with the onsale dates for tickets in most cities.

The tour is set to open on Oct. 27 in Champaign, Ill., and will have hit 14 cities by the time it wraps in Worcester, Mass., on Nov. 14.

Dylan, who has taken few breaks from the road since releasing 1997's Time Out Of Mind, will complete a two-month co-headlining tour with Paul Simon on Saturday.

Lesh underwent a liver transplant last December after becoming seriously ill from the effects of a long-known hepatitis-C infection. Surprisingly, he returned to the road in full-force in 1999, with an ever-changing lineup of artists serving as his bandmates. In April, Lesh joined Phish guitarist Trey Anastasio and keyboardist Page McConnell for three benefit concerts billed as Phil and Phriends, with proceeds earmarked for Lesh's Unbroken Chain foundation.

The Grateful Dead bassist also played the Western U.S. stretch of the Summer Session '99 tour, which featured Gov't Mule, moe, The String Cheese Incident, and Galactic.
