'A Mighty Wind' cast reunites for East Coast concerts

The cast of " A Mighty Wind "--the Christopher Guest mockumentary film that follows three imaginary folk acts through the planning and performance of a memorial concert for a great (also fictional) folk-music promoter--plan to play real concerts in four Northeastern cities.

Each show features The Folksmen (Christopher Guest, Michael McKean and Harry Shearer, who have also portrayed the mock-metal band Spinal Tap), Mitch & Mickey (Eugene Levy and Catherine O'Hara) and The New Main Street Singers (John Michael Higgins, Jane Lynch and Parker Posey).

Among the stops on the tour is New York City's Town Hall, the venue where the fictional memorial concert took place in the film. Two shows each are planned for New York and Washington, DC.

The concerts support the Sept. 23 release of the film on DVD. Among the special DVD features are 15 scenes not included in the 2003 theatrical release, optional commentary from Guest and Levy, and the "live-TV broadcast" of the memorial concert.
