Limp Bizkit's 'Results May Vary' due in stores on Sept. 23
After months of false starts, Limp Bizkit 's fourth album--the group's first without innovative guitarist Wes Borland--is finally on its way to stores.
A Sept. 23 release date has been scheduled for the set, titled "Results May Vary," which was debuted during a Saturday (9/6) listening party in London. The album comes three years after its predecessor, the seven-times platinum "Chocolate Starfish and the Hotdog Flavored Water."
According to the Interscope Records, the 16 tracks on "Results May Vary" were recorded primarily in Los Angeles. The first single, "Eat You Alive," is currently airing on rock radio stations.
Two of the tracks on the album--"Stick 'Em" and a cover of The Who's "Behind Blue Eyes"--were part of the group's set list during the recently concluded Summer Sanitarium tour, an outing headlined by Metallica.
Among the guest artists who contributed to the set--most of which was produced by Limp Bizkit frontman Fred Durst and Terry Date (Deftones, Soundgarden)--were Snoop Dogg and Korn's Brian "Head" Welch.
"Results May Vary" is the first Limp Bizkit album to feature new guitarist Mike Smith (formerly of Snot), who earlier this year replaced original guitarist Borland. Borland left the band in 2001.
A limited, deluxe edition of the new CD will be packaged with a bonus DVD featuring a 35 minute excerpt from the band's forthcoming DVD release titled, "Poop," which is due before Christmas. The "Poop" DVD will include interviews, backstage footage, special guest stars and concert footage.
Earlier this year, Durst announced via his band's website that the group had scrapped an already-finished album in order to start over with Smith, whom the band enlisted after recording the shelved set.
Among the now-scrapped working titles for the album--all of which Durst announced via the website at some point--were "Bipolar," "Less Is More," "Fetus More" and "Panty Sniffer."
