John Mayer cranks up new touring cycle behind latest album
Singer-songwriter John Mayer, whose latest album landed in stores on Tuesday (9/9), mounts a North American tour this fall.
Mayer, who visits Europe and Australia this month, kicks off a non-stop string of North American shows on Halloween. The current itinerary stretches through the end of November, and also includes a lone early-October Canadian stop.
Members of Mayer's official fan club, dubbed Local 83, have a shot at tickets before they go on sale to the general public. More information, including public on-sale dates, is posted at Mayer's website.
Titled "Heavier Things," Mayer's second full-length, major-label album features the single, "Bigger Than My Body." Streaming samples of all 10 of the album's tracks are available at Mayer's website.
Jack Joseph Puig (Sheryl Crow, No Doubt)--who mixed six tracks on Mayer's 2001 major-label debut, "Room for Squares"--produced "Heavier Things." Mayer recorded the new album in New York, and finished work on the set at Puig's Los Angeles headquarters, dubbed Ocean Way.
Earlier this year, Mayer picked up a GRAMMY®
Award for the "Room for Squares" track "Your Body is a Wonderland," which won in the Best Male Pop Vocal Performance category.
