Bruce Springsteen Performs At New Jersey Nightclub

Bruce Springsteen performed a brief set of songs Friday at a New Jersey nightclub during a previously scheduled acoustic set by Joe Grushecky.

During Friday night's Grushecky show at Hooligans in Long Branch, New Jersey, Springsteen reportedly joined the Pittsburgh-based singer on the Grushecky originals Never Be Enough Time, Pumping Iron, and Talking to the King, as well as the Van Morrison song Brown Eyed Girl. The two performers have a recording history -- Springsteen produced Grushecky's 1995 album ''American Babylon'' -- and have appeared on each other's stages several times in the past.

Among other scattered apperances, Springsteen performed a string of East Coast dates in 1995 with Grushecky and his band the Houserockers, performing a mix of Grushecky's and Springsteen's material. In 1996, Grushecky joined Springsteen at two stops on his acoustic tour supporting the ''Ghost of Tom Joad'' album.

According to Grushecky's official web site, another New Jersey show is tentatively scheduled for July 30th at Tradewinds in Sea Bright.
