3 Doors Down locks in new round of tour dates

3 Doors Down [ tickets ]'s ongoing tour in support of last year's "Away from the Sun" sprouts yet another leg, and now stretches well into November.

The group, which recently finished its first batch of fall shows, returns to the road in early October with South African rock trio Seether [ tickets ] and Florida alt-metal outfit Shinedown in the opening slots.

3 Doors Down [ tickets ]'s "Away from the Sun," which surfaced last November, debuted at No. 8 on the Billboard 200 album chart, and features the group's latest Adult Top 40 hit, "Here Without You."

The band recently shot the "Here Without You" music video with director Marc Webb, who also directed the video for "Duck & Run," a track housed on 3 Doors Down's major-label debut, "The Better Life." The group plans to release the new video in early October, to coincide with the launch of its fall tour, according to the band's website.

Earlier this month, 3 Doors Down snagged an American Music Award nomination in the Favorite Band, Duo or Group category. The awards ceremony will air ABC on Nov. 16.
