Staind hits radio festivals, teams with Sevendust

Boston-based rock quintet Staind spends its fall playing a plethora of radio festivals, and also hooks up with Sevendust for a series of headlining dates.

The group kicks off the new batch of dates on Friday night in Connecticut, and is currently scheduled to remain on the road at least until its Nov. 1 performance at New Orleans' Voodoo Music Experience festival.

The run is part of Staind's support for its chart-topping album "14 Shades of Grey," which surfaced in May. The platinum-certified set debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 album chart, and currently sits at No. 30.

Helping to spur sales is the album's second single, "So Far Away," which is currently in the No. 1 slot on Billboard's Modern Rock chart. The song's music video, as well as the video for first single "Price to Play," are streaming at Staind's website.

Staind broke through with its 2001 album "Break the Cycle," which is certified quadruple platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America. That album features the runaway hit "It's Been Awhile."

Metal quintet Sevendust issues its fourth album, "Seasons," on Oct. 7. The set features the cut "Enemy," which the group is offering as a free download at its official website.
