Briefly: Tori Amos, Dope, The Strokes, Big Day Out, Step Up benefits

The first best-of compilation from Tori Amos , titled "Tales of a Librarian," is scheduled to hit stores on Nov. 18.

Twenty tracks are included on the two-disc album. Amos recorded two new songs for the set, and re-recorded the rare b-sides "Mary" and "Sweet Dreams," according to Atlantic Records.

The bonus DVD features songs recorded earlier this month, during the final show of Amos' summer 2003 North American tour.

Dope 's forthcoming Edsel Dope-produced album "Group Therapy," due on Oct. 21, will feature a full-length video for each of its 13 songs.

The group launches its fall tour on Friday (9/26); an itinerary is posted at Dope's official website.

The release date for The Strokes ' sophomore album, "Room on Fire," has been pushed back a week to Oct. 28 due to "some unforeseen packaging problems," according to the group's official website.

The lineup for Australia's Big Day Out festival tour has been finalized. Joining headliner Metallica will be The Strokes, The Flaming Lips, The Dandy Warhols and The Mars Volta, among others. The full lineup is available at the event's official website.

The six-city outing opens on Jan. 16 and visits six cities--including a stop in Auckland, New Zealand.

Sheryl Crow , Mya Debbie Harry and Chris Stein are scheduled to appear at an Oct. 6 benefit concert for the Step Up Women's Network. Tickets for the show, which takes place at Hammerstein Ballroom, are on sale now.

Meanwhile, a Los Angeles Step Up benefit is scheduled for Nov. 15 at the Avalon in Los Angeles. The lineup includes Camp Freddy, Macy Gray and Mark McGrath. Tickets go on sale in October, according to organizers.

The Step Up Women's Network is an organization that raises funds and awareness for breast-cancer research and other women's causes. DKNY and Vanity Far are presenting the shows.
