Bruce Springsteen [ tickets ]'s New York Police Department escort reportedly was pulled last week after he performed the song "American Skin (41 Shots)," which is about the 1999 NYPD shooting of unarmed African immigrant Amadou Diallo.

According to the New York Daily News, a police chief became angry and canceled Friday's (10/3) planned escort because Springsteen played the song on Wednesday (10/1), the opening date of Springsteen's tour-ending run at Shea Stadium.

Springsteen didn't play the song again, and his security detail reportedly returned for the tour's final show on Saturday.

For the second straight week, OutKast [ tickets ]'s "Speakerboxx/The Love Below" is the top-selling album in the U.S., according to industry sources.

The two-CD set sold about 235,000 copies during the past week, beating out the debut of Bad Boy's Da Band's "Too Hot for T.V." by more than 30,000 units.

Sting's "Sacred Love" enters the chart at No. 3, followed by Dido's "Life for Rent."

Toby Keith [ tickets ], Martina McBride, George Strait and Shania Twain are among the scheduled performers for this year's CMA Awards, the Country Music Association announced.

The awards ceremony will air live on CBS-TV from Nashville's Grand Ole Opry House on Nov. 6.

Peter Gabriel [ tickets ] has agreed to contribute his song "Burn You Up, Burn You Down" to the November video-game release "Uru: Ages Beyond Myst." He will also contribute an original composition for the next game in the series.

The Rush [ tickets ] concert film "Rush in Rio" will play on the big screen on Oct. 21 at select Regal Entertainment Group theaters in 25 U.S. markets.

The film--which will be released on DVD the same day--captures Rush's 2002 performance in Rio de Janeiro.
