GRAMMY-winning acoustic trio Nickel Creek [ tickets ] continues to push its sophomore album, "This Side," during a fall road trip.

The group's current itinerary covers a month-long stretch that begins on Thursday (10/16) and wraps up in New York City on Nov. 16. Tickets for most dates are on sale now. More on-sale info is posted at the group's website.

Released in August of last year, "This Side" recently achieved gold status--signifying shipment of 500,000 copies--according to the band's website. The set includes the track "Smoothie Song," for which the group recently released a video. The clip, which is streaming at Country Music Television's website, features a guest appearance from Metallica bassist Robert Trujillo.

Earlier this year, "This Side" won the GRAMMY^® award for Best Contemporary Folk Album.

Nickel Creek-- Sarah Watkins (strings, vocals), her brother Sean (guitar, vocals) and Chris Thile (mandolin, vocals)--released its self-titled debut in 2000. Prior to the album's release, the group had spent a number of years as a quartet, rounded out by Thile's father, Scott (bass).

Bluegrass icon Alison Krauss has produced both of the group's albums.
