Evanescence stays busy with more North American shows

Goth-rock sensation Evanescence plays a handful of late-2003 concerts as its debut album, "Fallen," continues to sell briskly.

The group's latest itinerary features a lone November date in California and a modest batch of early- to mid-December stops in the Midwest and Canada. Fellow rockers Seether, Finger Eleven and Godhead open on all dates.

Arkansas-based quartet Evanescence released "Fallen" in early March. Now in its 30th week on The Billboard 200 album chart, the double-platinum set--which debuted at No. 7 and peaked at No. 3--sits at No. 18.

The album recently garnered the group an American Music Award nomination in the Favorite Album - Pop or Rock 'n Roll Music category. ABC-TV will air the award ceremony on Nov. 16.

Spurring sales of "Fallen" is its latest single, "Going Under," which is the follow-up to the breakthrough hit "Bring Me to Life"; "Going Under" has spent 16 weeks on Billboard's Modern Rock singles chart, where it currently resides at No. 5.

Evanescence has lined up a non-album version of the "Fallen" cut "My Immortal" for its next single, according to the band's website.

"If you've seen Evanescence in concert on their most recent tour," reads a message posted on the site, "you've experience the incredible thrill when the whole band kicks into 'My Immortal' halfway into the song. Response to this arrangement was so strong that the band has produced a new version of 'My Immortal.'"

The updated version of the song is streaming at the group's website.
