Cypress Hill's Smoke Out to feature Linkin Park, DMX, others

Hip-hop act Cypress Hill sparks up its sixth annual Smoke Out festival on Nov. 15 in San Bernardino, CA, joined by a lineup that also includes Linkin Park , DMX , Pennywise, Papa Roach and others.

Among the other acts on the lineup are Body Count, Superjoint Ritual, Obie Trice, Doc Martin, MC Natural and Dead Prez. The event takes place at the National Orange Show Events Center, and tickets hit the market on Saturday (10/18), according to organizers.

Besides offering several different stages for DJs and other performers, the Smoke Out event also serves as a platform to advocate the legalization of marijuana. Organizers typically establish special rules for the festival, including a ban on unopened cigarette packs and searches of concertgoers as they enter. Details will be posted at the Smoke Out's official website.

Cypress Hill's Smoke Out usually takes place at the National Orange Show grounds, but it was held at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum in 2002. Organizers hoped to take the festival to four cities in 2000, but logistical problems limited the tour to just two. The first Smoke Out took place in 1998.

On Nov. 18, a DVD recording of last year's Smoke Out festival hits stores. It features performances by Snoop Dogg, Cypress Hill, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, Everlast, Circle Jerks, Kottonmouth Kings and others, according to distributor Eagle Vision.
