Al Jarreau, David Benoit and Melissa Manchester mount joint tour

Veteran GRAMMY-winning singers Al Jarreau and Melissa Manchester team up with pianist David Benoit for a late-2003 outing dubbed the Charlie Brown & Friends Tour.

The run kicks off in St. Paul, MN, a few days before Thanksgiving, and is scheduled to wrap up in Seattle just prior to Christmas.

Audiences can expect to hear "the memorable music of the beloved 'Peanuts' television specials, festive songs of the season and the timeless classics of the three great artists," according to Manchester's website.

In 2000, Benoit released "Here's to You, Charlie Brown!: 50 Great Years," on which he,, bassist Christian McBride and drummer Peter Erskine perform the works of composer Vince Guaraldi, who wrote many of the tunes featured in the "Charlie Brown" cartoon television specials.

Benoit's most-recent album is a 10-track set titled "Right Here, Right Now," which arrived in stores on Tuesday (10/14). Samples are posted at Benoit's website.

Jarreau--the only vocalist ever to have won a GRAMMY® Award in three different genres (jazz, pop and R&B)--released his latest album, titled "All I Got," in September of last year.

Manchester sandwiches her stint on the Charlie Brown & Friends Tour between two stretches of dates in her ongoing Songs and Stories tour with fellow singer-songwriter Paul Williams; the two are performing various works from their respective catalogs, and telling the stories behind the songs. More information is available at Manchester's website.
