Pearl Jam lines up another West Coast benefit show
Seattle rockers Pearl Jam are set to wrap up a week of benefit shows with a "mostly acoustic" Oct. 28 concert at Southern California's Santa Barbara Bowl.
Proceeds from the just-announced performance will benefit the Louis Warschaw Prostate Cancer Center at Cedars-Sinai, according to a statement.
"The Louis Warschaw Prostate Cancer Center has been a great source of hope and treatment for some of our dear friends," Pearl Jam frontman Ed Vedder said in a statement. "We want to see it continue to be that for them and others."
According to Pearl Jam's official website, tickets will go on sale on Saturday (10/18) at noon Pacific Time, and will be available only at the Santa Barbara Bowl box office and Ticketmaster outlets in the 805 area code. There will be no phone sales and no Internet sales during the on-sale's first three hours.
As previously reported, Pearl Jam is also scheduled to perform an acoustic concert on Oct. 22 to benefit Seattle-based YouthCare's Orion Center. The group will also perform at Neil Young's Bridge School Benefit, set for Oct. 25 and 26 at Shoreline Amphitheater in Mountain View, CA.
