A two-disc deluxe edition of The Who 's "Tommy," remixed by Pete Townshend in surround sound, is set for release on Oct. 28.
Besides the original album, the hybrid SACD (Super Audio CD) release includes 12 previously unreleased outtakes and alternate versions, as well as four previously unreleased demos.
The package also features liner notes and copies of some of Townshend's original handwritten and typed lyrics.
DA Pennebaker's Depeche Mode documentary film "101" will be issued on DVD along with the Depeche Mode concert film "Live at the Rose Bowl--June 18th 1988" on Nov. 11.
The DVD features more than three hours of footage, as well as new interviews with the group's Martin Gore, Andrew Fletcher and Dave Gahan that Pennebaker--best known for his Bob Dylan documentary "Don't Look Back"--filmed for the DVD.
A Nov. 28 release date--which is the Friday after Thanksgiving--has been scheduled for Jay-Z 's "The Black Album," which the rapper says is his last set, Billboard.com reports. Nearly all new albums are released on a Tuesday.
Venue-owner Gaylord Entertainment has announced the completion of a $7.5 million renovation of Nashville's Grand Ole Opry House, which has housed the Grand Ole Opry since 1974. Among the new additions to the venue is a 2,400-square-foot themed retail store, a 2,000-square-foot box office, and upgraded audio and lighting systems.
The venue will host the Country Music Association Awards on Nov. 5.
Country singer Brad Paisley plays teen idol Ricky Nelson in the Dec. 7 episode of NBC's 1960s-era series "American Dreams," according to Paisley's publicist. Paisley performs a rendition of "Dream Lover," a song that was a hit for Nelson and Bobby Darin.
