Fan Fair To Feature Wynonna, Neal McCoy, SHeDAISY

Wynonna, Neal McCoy , SHeDAISY, Terri Clark and Kathy Mattea are among the first batch of artists that have been scheduled to perform at Fan Fair 2000, country music's annual event that combines concerts, fan club events, autograph signings and other attractions. The gathering is set for June 12-16 in Nashville, and most activities will take place at the Tennessee State Fairgrounds.

Other performers include Jessica Andrews, Chuck Wagon, Clay Davidson, The Geezinslaws, Keith Harling, Sonya Isaacs, Toby Keith, Jerry Kilgore, Ronnie Milsap, Rascal Flatts, Julie Reeves, River Road, Aaron Tippin, The Wilkinsons, Mark Wills, and Darryl Worley. More than 100 acts performed at last year's Fan Fair, and event officials expect a similar number in 2000. Tickets are now on sale.

Among other perks, Fan Fair's $90 registration fee includes admission to the week's live stage shows and exhibit halls where artists sign autographs, as well as the Country Music Hall of Fame and Ryman Auditorium.

Besides the regularly scheduled Fan Fair week events, ''Country Weekly Presents The TNN Music Awards" has been set for June 15 at the Nashville's Gaylord Entertainment Center. Tickets for the awards show, which aren't included in the price of the Fan Fair pass, go on sale Friday (2/25).

Organizers are seeking a new home for Fan Fair, and have told the Tennessee State Fair board that it is unlikely that the event will return to the fairgrounds after this year's run. The Fan Fair committee will use the next several months to explore future options for the event. Besides studying alternate sites in downtown Nashville, the committee reportedly is also feeling out interest expressed by other cities.

Attendance at last year's Fan Fair was 22,000, down from about 24,000 in 1998.
