Toby Keith plots more 'Shock'N Y'all' shows as album release nears

Toby Keith follows the early-November release of his new album, "Shock'N Y'all," with more concerts that extend the tour for which the new release is named.

The new batch of dates extends the "Shock'N Y'all" road trip through the end of November. In addition, Keith has scheduled a New Year's Eve performance in Nashville, which will also feature Willie Nelson and Blake Shelton.

Due in stores on Nov. 4, Keith's new album includes his latest single, "I Love This Bar." He'll help launch the set with a Nov. 11 appearance on "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," according to his website.

The "Shock'N Y'all" tour and album draw their names from the U.S. Defense Department's Iraqi-war catch phrase "shock and awe." Though Keith dubbed his current outing the "Shock'N Y'all" tour in June, he has been on the road virtually nonstop since the July 2002 release of his most-recent album, "Unleashed," which debuted at No. 1 on The Billboard 200 album chart, and has sold more than two million copies.

Two days after "Shock'N Y'all" lands in stores, Keith will perform at the 37th Annual CMA Awards, which airs on CBS. The singer leads this year's pack of nominees with seven nominations: Entertainer of the Year; Male Vocalist of the Year; Single of the Year, Song of the Year, Vocal Event of the Year and Music Video of the Year (all for "Beer for My Horses," a duet with Nelson); and Album of the Year ("Unleashed").

"Unleashed" is also vying for an American Music Award in the Favorite Album - Country Music category, while Keith himself scored a Favorite Male Artist - Country Music nod. The AMA ceremony airs on ABC on Nov. 16.

Keith was the No. 1 ticket seller in country music for 2002, and No. 7 overall for the year, according to Pollstar. In August, the Academy of Country Music crowned him Entertainer of the Year.
