Yeah Yeah Yeahs return to the U.S. for headlining jaunt

After opening for such critical darlings as The Strokes and The White Stripes over the last year, New York rockers Yeah Yeah Yeahs have picked up enough momentum to headline their own club tour.

The trio--which recently wrapped up a tour of Australia and Japan--is set to play club dates in a dozen U.S. cities in November.

According to Australian press reports, the band's trip to that country wasn't without incident. Lead singer Karen O was hospitalized after she fell off the stage during the fourth song of the band's Oct. 19 gig at Sydney's Metro Theatre. She was hospitalized with a concussion, and though she performed the band's next gig as scheduled, another planned show in Adelaide was canceled.

Yeah Yeah Yeahs debuted with a self-titled EP in late 2001, and but the set didn't get wide distribution until it was reissued in 2002 by Chicago indie Touch and Go.

Interscope Records soon came knocking, and "Fever to Tell," the band's debut album, was released on the label to solid reviews this spring. Videos for two of the album's tracks, "Date with the Night" and "Maps," are streaming at Yeah Yeah Yeahs' official website.
