Elliott Smith memorial to feature Beck, Grandaddy, Bright Eyes, others
Beck , Radar Bros, Grandaddy , Beth Orton , Bright Eyes , Rilo Kiley and Future Pigeon are among the acts scheduled to perform at a Los Angeles memorial for singer-songwriter Elliott Smith .
The memorial show--during which all artists will play short sets, covering Smith's songs--is scheduled to take place on Nov. 3 at the Henry Fonda Theater. Other special guests are expected to appear as well.
A screening of "Strange Parallel," a short film about Smith directed by Steve Hanft, is also planned.
Tickets for the memorial are sold out. All proceeds from the memorial will go to The Elliott Smith Foundation for Abused Children; personal donations can be mailed to the foundation at The Elliott Smith Foundation, 2658 Griffith Park Blvd., #195, Los Angeles, CA 90039.
Smith died in Los Angeles on Oct. 21 after he reportedly stabbed himself in the heart. He was 34.
