Coldplay premieres new concert film in movie theaters
On the eve of the Nov. 4 release of a new live DVD and CD, Coldplay will debut the concert film in movie theaters throughout the U.S.
The event is presented by Regal CineMedia, a company that has organized similar showings for artists including Korn, Beyonce, Tom Petty, KISS and The Grateful Dead.
Regal Cinemas in 31 markets--including New York, Los Angeles, Philadelphia and San Francisco--will hold screenings. A complete list of cities and theaters is available at the event's webpage.
The "Coldplay Live 2003" DVD captures the group's July 2003 performance in Sydney, Australia. The track list includes the new cut "Moses." Also included is a 40-minute documentary and an audio CD of the concert.
Coldplay spent much of 2003 on the road in support of its sophomore effort, "A Rush of Blood to the Head." Earlier this year, the album won the GRAMMY® for Best Alternative Music Album, and the track "In My Place" won the trophy for Best Rock Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal.
"Parachutes," Coldplay's 2000 debut, won Best Alternative Music Album the in 2002.
