Staind postpones and cancels shows due to singer's ailment
Staind has postponed several dates on its current tour, and has canceled a number of others, so that frontman Aaron Lewis can recover from throat problems.
Lewis is suffering from "throat polyps and severely swollen vocal cords," according to a press release, and has to rest for several days in order to "allow medication to take effect and to prevent permanent damage to [his] voice."
The group, which was scheduled to perform at The Wiltern in Los Angeles on Wednesday (11/5) and Thursday (11/6), has scrapped those plans, and has lumped the two shows together for a single Nov. 13 make-up concert at The Palladium, a larger venue. Tickets for the original Wiltern performances will be honored on the new date.
The group's originally scheduled Saturday (11/8) performance in Sacramento, CA, has been pushed back one week to Nov. 15.
Due to "routing difficulties," previously planned shows in San Jose, CA (11/9); Boise, ID (11/12); Salt Lake City, UT (11/13); Fargo, ND (11/17); and Pittsburgh, PA (11/22) have been canceled outright. Ticket refunds are available at the point of purchase, according to a press release.
The group plans to resume touring on Nov. 11 in Spokane, WA.
Staind has been on the road supporting its May release, "14 Shades of Grey." The platinum-certified set debuted at No. 1 on The Billboard 200 album chart.
