Guns N' Roses , who haven't played a concert since the group's 2002 tour was aborted with more than a dozen shows remaining on the schedule, are scheduled to appear at next year's Rock in Rio-Lisbon Festival in Portugal.
GN'R will headline the five-day festival on May 30, its opening day. The only remaining member from the band's '80s heyday is frontman Axl Rose.
Rockers Puddle of Mudd will play a Nov. 15 concert at Soma in San Diego to aid victims of the recent San Diego-area wildfires.
According to a press release, tickets for the show will go on sale on Friday (11/7) at 5 p.m. Pacific Time via a Ticketmaster.com Internet presale, and will be available for purchase at Ticketmaster outlets on Saturday (11/8). (Ticketmaster is liveDaily's parent company.)
U.K. rockers Suede have announced plans to split after they finish their current tour in mid-December.
"Suede would like to announce that from next year they will be working on their own individual projects," said a statement posted on the band's website. "There will not be a new studio album until the band feel that the moment is artistically right to make one."
McDonald's Corp. is planning to give away up to 1 billion songs via Apple's iTunes music service, according to a New York Post report. PepsiCo has already announced plans to give away 100 million downloads via iTunes.
Apple claims it sold 1.5 million music downloads during the past week. Meanwhile, Napster announced that it sold more than 300,000 downloads during its first week as a legal service.
Singer-songwriter Tracy Chapman has called on Angolan concert promoters to stop running advertisements which "wrongly" claim she will play three concerts in Luanda this month.
"Despite Tracy Chapman declining an invitation to perform in Angola several months ago, the promoter announced on Oct. 13th that the performances would take place and put tickets on sale," said a statement issued by Chapman's camp. "To avoid any doubt, Tracy Chapman wants it to be understood that she has never agreed to perform in Angola."
