Jane's Addiction and Marilyn Manson team up for live shows

Alt-rock icons Jane's Addiction and shock-rocker Marilyn Manson join forces this winter for a series of co-headlining dates that kick off right after Christmas.

Only a handful of dates have been scheduled so far, beginning with a Dec. 27 performance in Auburn Hills, MI. Plans also include a New Year's Eve show at New York City's Madison Square Garden.

The joint run follows each act's individual European tours; Jane's finishes up their sweep of the continent next week, while Manson's Euro outing launches later this month, and wraps up on Dec. 19.

Jane's Addiction is backing "Strays," which surfaced in July, and is the group's first new studio set since 1991's "Ritual de lo Habitual." Producer Bob Ezrin--known for his work on Pink Floyd's "The Wall, KISS's "Destroyer" and Lou Reed's "Berlin"--produced the set, which features founding members Perry Farrell (vocals), Dave Navarro (guitar) and Stephen Perkins (drums).

Rounding out the lineup is new bassist Chris Chaney, whose résumé includes gigs with Rob Zombie, Tommy Lee and Andrew W.K.

Manson released his latest set, "The Golden Age of Grotesque," in May. The album, which features the cuts "This Is the New Sh--" and "Mobscene," debuted at No. 1 on The Billboard 200 album chart.

In addition to the group's stateside dates with Marilyn Manson, Jane's Addiction is scheduled to perform at a couple of mid-December radio festivals. Details appear in the itinerary below.
