Evanescence postpones upcoming U.S. shows

Evanescence , whose founding guitarist walked out on the group in the midst of its recent European tour, has postponed a round of U.S. dates that was due to kick off on Friday (11/21).

Tickets for each of the postponed shows will be honored on the yet-to-be-scheduled make-up dates, according to an announcement on the band's website. No further explanation was given.

The group, along with Wind-Up Records labelmates Seether and Finger Eleven, was due to perform a number of concerts throughout the western and midwestern U.S. between Nov. 21 and Dec. 7. Three mid-December Canadian shows will take place as planned, according to a band spokesperson.

In January, the band is scheduled to mount a tour of Australia and Japan.

Last month, Evanescence guitarist and co-founder Ben Moody unexpectedly bailed out on the group during its European tour. The band recruited Cold guitarist Terry Balsamo as Moody's temporary replacement.

Evanescence exploded onto the rock scene earlier this year with release of its inaugural effort, "Fallen," which debuted at No. 7 on The Billboard 200 album chart, and peaked at No. 3. The album features the hits "Bring Me to Life" and "Going Under."
