Shania Twain unveils plans for spring arena dates

UPDATED 12/10/03--Pop-country favorite Shania Twain announced during a televised performance on Nov. 25 that she has lined up a new round of North American tour dates that will launch in the spring.
The current leg of Twain's outing behind "Up!," her 2002 release, is scheduled to run until Dec. 20. She'll start her next round of North American tour dates in early April, and will remain on the road through June.
"Up!" debuted at No. 1 on The Billboard 200 album chart about a year ago, and has sold more than 9 million copies worldwide to date, according to Mercury Nashville. Her previous release, 1997's "Come On Over," sold more than 34 million copies worldwide, and ranks as one of the top-selling female solo albums in history.
In November, Mercury Nashville issued "Shania Twain Up! Live in Chicago," a DVD that captures her July 27 performance at Chicago's Grant Park. The concert originally aired on NBC in August; the DVD features performances of six songs not included in the televised special.
