John Mayer takes another swing through North America in 2004

John Mayer, who just finished a month-long trek through North America, will make a second pass through the continent early next year.

The singer-songwriter's upcoming dates are due to kick off in Vancouver, British Columbia, on Valentine's Day. All stops are set in markets that Mayer didn't visit the first time around, most of which are in the western U.S.

Mayer's plans also include a two-night stand at New York City's Irving Plaza on Dec. 28-29, during which he will join Buddy Guy and the late Stevie Ray Vaughan's backing band, Double Trouble, to perform "their favorite blues songs, including some original material," according to the venue's website.

Mayer is touring behind his second major-label full-length, "Heaver Things," which surfaced in early September. The album moved 316,500 copies during its first week in stores, and garnered Mayer his first No. 1 album on The Billboard 200 chart.

"Heavier Things" features the single "Bigger Than My Body." Streaming samples of all 10 of the album's tracks are available at Mayer's website.

Earlier this year, Mayer picked up a GRAMMY®
Award for the "Room for Squares" track "Your Body is a Wonderland," which won in the Best Male Pop Vocal Performance category.
