Ozzy Osbourne in intensive care after undergoing surgery

Ozzy Osbourne 's doctor told reporters on Tuesday (12/9) that the rocker has undergone surgery for injuries he suffered in an all-terrain vehicle accident, and that Osbourne may spend several days in intensive care.

Osbourne, 55, is in stable condition, but he has been on a ventilator and unable to speak since undergoing emergency surgery on Monday (12/9), according to British press reports.

In the accident--which occurred while he was riding an ATV on his property in Buckinghamshire, England--Osbourne suffered eight broken ribs, a broken collarbone and a cracked vertebra in his neck.

"Apparently he was on his quad bike and he hit something, and he fell and the bike landed on top of him," Osbourne's wife, Sharon, told reporters. Sharon and daughter Kelly Osbourne flew to London from Los Angeles on Tuesday to be with Ozzy.

During Monday's surgery, doctors at Wexham Park Hospital in Slough, England, restored circulation to Osbourne's left arm, which was damaged by pressure from his broken collarbone.

Doctors--who don't expect much change in Osbourne's condition for the next 24 hours--have begun to remove Osbourne from the ventilator, but the process could take several days, according to British reports.
