Rascal Flatts heats things up with more 'Melt' shows
Rascal Flatts , which spent much of the year on the road behind its 2002 album "Melt," will support the set with one more swing through the states before starting work on a new album.
The country trio--which this year won the CMA, ACM and ASCAP Vocal Group of the Year awards--has lined up a two-month run that kicks off in late January. Dates and cities are confirmed for all stops, though venues for a number of shows are still pending. Details appear in the itinerary below.
The band's itinerary focuses on the Midwest and East, and also includes a lone Canadian stop in Hamilton, Ontario. Brian McComas and Chris Cagle open on all dates.
After the early-2004 outing wraps up in late March, Rascal Flatts' members plan to head into the studio to record a new album during April and May, according to the group's publicist.
The group's post-tour plans also include the birth of lead singer Gary LeVox's second daughter, and bass player Jay DeMarcus' wedding.
Released in October 2002, "Melt" is the follow-up to Rascal Flatts' self-titled debut, which surfaced in June of 2000. The group has sold a total of almost 4 million albums, according to a press release.
