David Bowie sets make-up dates for postponed shows
Glam-rock pioneer David Bowie , who had to scrap the first five dates of his North American tour due to a bout of the flu, is back on the road, and has rescheduled the missed shows.
Bowie has moved his originally scheduled performance in Atlantic City, NJ, from Dec. 6 to May 29; in Washington, DC, from Dec. 7 to May 16; in Boston from Dec. 9 to March 30; in Philadelphia from Dec. 10 to March 29; and in Toronto from Dec. 12 to April 1.
Tickets for the postponed performances in these cities will be honored at the rescheduled shows. Fans who prefer can obtain a refund at the point of purchase, and have until Feb. 27 to do so, according to Bowie's website.
The now-healthy Bowie finally launched his North American run in Montreal on Saturday (12/13), and performed at New York City's Madison Square Garden on Monday (12/15). Pictures from the New York performance are posted at Bowie's website, as is the show's set list.
Bowie is working the road to back his new album, "Reality," which he released in September. The album track "New Killer Star" was recently nominated for a GRAMMY® in the Best Male Rock Vocal Performance category.
On Jan. 13, Virgin Records plans to issue a special-edition version of Bowie's 1993 album, "Black Tie White Noise." The three-disc set features one disc that houses the original album, one disc containing rare and previously unreleased tracks and mixes, and a DVD featuring the "Black Tie White Noise" home video previously available only in VHS format.
