Pennywise adds more dates to winter outing
Pennywise , which last month unveiled plans to launch a U.S. club tour in January, has added a February leg to the run.
The jaunt's first string of dates opens on Jan. 21 in Atlanta, and wraps up in Sayerville, NJ, on Jan. 31; a second batch of shows is due to launch in Washington, DC, on Feb. 18, and dates for that leg are scheduled through the end of the month.
The punk rockers are supporting their September release, "From the Ashes," which features the cuts "God Save the USA," "Waiting" and "Yesterdays"; all three tracks are available as free mp3 downloads from Epitaph Records' website.
The enhanced "From the Ashes" CD contains video footage of the Southern California-based group recording the album, a live song from a 2002 performance at the Long Beach Arena, interviews with the band and a trailer for its forthcoming "Home Movies, Part Two" DVD, which the group plans to release "soon," according to a message posted at Epitaph's website.
Though widespread commercial success has eluded the group, Pennywise remains committed to making music for its fan base.
"We are eternally grateful for the people who have stood by us and understood what we're trying to do with our music," the group said in a message posted at Epitaph's website, "and also for the people who just like to bang their head and get stupid in the pit. As long as you guys are into it, we'll keep bringing it."
