Ray Davies of The Kinks reportedly was shot in the leg after he tried to chase a purse snatcher in New Orleans on Sunday night (1/5).
The Associated Press reported that Davies was walking in the French Quarter when an armed gunman jumped from a car and took the purse from a woman he was walking with. Davies reportedly was shot as he chased the thief back to the car.
Davies was treated at a local hospital and released.
Silverchair lead singer Daniel Johns and pop singer/actress Natalie Imbruglia were married last week at a resort in their home country of Australia.
New Orleans authorities reportedly have arrested a suspect in connection with the November shooting death of rapper Soulja Slim in New Orleans. Garelle Smith, 22, was booked last week on charges of first-degree murder.
Tesla is scheduled to release a new studio album titled "Into the Now" on March 9. According to a press release, the group's original lineup--vocalist Jeff Keith, guitarist Frank Hannon, guitarist Tommy Skeoch, bassist Brian Wheat and drummer Troy Luccketta--spent more than two years writing and recording the set.
