Amy Grant, MercyMe lock down itinerary for joint tour
Amy Grant and MercyMe , who last month announced plans to mount a joint outing dubbed The Imagine Tour, have finalized the run's itinerary.
The jaunt gets underway in Nashville on Jan. 30, and a total of 25 stops are set through March 8. Venues are now confirmed for all stops. Organizers, who had announced dates and cities last month, have changed the locale for a number of the tour's early March stops. Details appear in the itinerary below.
Also aboard for the outing is fellow Contemporary Christian artist Bebo Norman .
"I am so excited to be part of this tour with MercyMe," Grant said in a statement. "I've gotten to know all the guys over the past couple of years and they have truly amazed me with their songwriting ability, musicianship, and overall artistry."
Grant, who spent the holiday season on a co-headlining tour with husband Vince Gill, released her most-recent album, "Simple Things," last August. The set is the latest entry in a catalog that dates back to 1977.
Over the course of her career, Grant has sold more than 24 million albums, according to a press release, and last year was inducted into the Gospel Music Association's Gospel Music Hall of Fame. She has won five GRAMMY® awards and 24 Dove Awards, which honor Christian music's top acts.
MercyMe scored a crossover hit last year with the cut "I Can Only Imagine," found on the 2001 album "Almost There." The follow-up, titled "Undone," is set for release in April.
Norman's latest album, "Myself When I Am Real," surfaced in 2002. The set topped Billboard's Heatseekers chart during its debut week in stores.
