O.A.R.'s tour plans include dates with Robert Randolph & the Family Band
Hard-touring roots-rockers O.A.R. kick off their 2004 road work in late January, and are set to co-headline more than a dozen dates with the pedal-steel driven act Robert Randolph & the Family Band .
According to Lava Records, the members of O.A.R. and Robert Randolph & the Family Band first met on the 2003 Sprite Liquid Mix Tour, and the two groups began jamming during each other's sets. There, the idea of the co-headlining tour was hatched.
"Robert Randolph & the Family Band bring back to live music what has been missing for so long: love, energy, and soul," lead singer Marc Roberge said in a statement. "We can't wait to join the party. "
O.A.R. is also scheduled to headline many additional dates though mid-March. Details are in the itinerary below.
After releasing four indie-label albums, O.A.R. offered up its Lava Records debut in May of 2003. The group recorded the set--titled "Between Now and Then"--with producer John Alagia (Dave Matthews, John Mayer) and engineer Jeff Juliano.
O.A.R. rose to prominence by building a large grassroots following thanks to endless touring and the fan-friendly practice of allowing fans to record and trade tapes of its shows.
