Briefly: Widespread Panic, RIAA, Leftover Salmon, My Morning Jacket, John Lydon
A new live album from Widespread Panic , titled "Night of Joy," is scheduled to hit stores on March 23.
The album was compiled from two concerts that the group taped at the House of Blues in Myrtle Beach, SC, in November of 2003.
The Recording Industry Association of America has filed a new volley of lawsuits against music fans it claims are illegally distributing songs over the Internet.
The organization, which represents the major record labels, has filed 523 new lawsuits in New York and Washington, DC, dwarfing the 261 suits it filed last summer.
Modern-bluegrass purveyors Leftover Salmon issue a new, self-titled studio album on March 24, the band's first since the death of member Mark Vann of cancer in early 2002.
My Morning Jacket members Danny Cash and Johnny Quaid "have decided to hang up their instruments and pursue other things in life," the band announced on its official website. Guitarist Carl Broemel and keyboardist Bo Koster have joined the band.
According to U.K. press reports, John Lydon --a.k.a. Johnny Rotten--will appear next year on the cast of the British reality show "I'm a Celebrity ... Get Me Out of Here!"
