Bob Dylan begins mapping 2004 North American tour
Folk-rock legend Bob Dylan , who is vying for two awards at next month's GRAMMY ceremony, sets out in March on a North American road trip.
Dylan and his band launch the run with a three-night stand in St. Louis on March 1-3, and dates so far are set through March 19, with "many more to come," according to Dylan's website.
Users of Dylan's website will have access to online ticket pre-sales, according to the site.
Shortly after the tour gets underway, Columbia/Legacy offers up Dylan's "Live 1964: Concert at Philharmonic Hall--The Bootleg Series Volume 6," a two-disc set that features 19 tracks recorded during an Oct. 31, 1964 solo-acoustic performance. The tracklist includes "Mr. Tambourine Man," "Gates of Eden" and "It's Alright Ma (I'm Only Bleeding)," studio versions of which appeared on Dylan's 1965 album, "Another Side of Bob Dylan ."
Next month, Dylan will find out if he needs to make more room in his trophy room; the singer/songwriter's duet with Mavis Staples of his song "Gonna Change My Way of Thinking"--found on the Columbia Records release "Gotta Serve Somebody: The Gospel Songs of Bob Dylan"--is nominated for a GRAMMY® in the Best Pop Collaboration with Vocals category, and his recording of "Down in the Flood"--from the "Masked and Anonymous" soundtrack album--is nominated in the Best Male Rock Vocal Performance category.
The 46th GRAMMY awards ceremony will be broadcast live on CBS on Feb. 8.
