Rod Stewart keeps rolling out North American tour dates

Rod Stewart , whose North American arena tour kicks off next week, has added another batch of shows to his itinerary.

Stewart, who launches the outing in Florida on Feb. 6, is now slated to remain on the road until late April. Tickets for most shows are on sale now to the general public.

Members of Stewart's official fan-club have access to online pre-sales that include the opportunity to buy premium seats; the high-end ticket package costs $350, and includes a ticket in the first five rows, an "exclusive T-shirt, concert program and a collectable laminate," according to the fan-club's website.

Stewart's set list during the tour will feature songs from throughout his lengthy career, according to organizers; he is expected to perform hits such as Maggie May," "Tonight's the Night," "You're In My Heart," "Forever Young," "Downtown Train," "Do Ya Think I'm Sexy" and "Have I Told You Lately."

The tour is Stewart's first since 2001, and is his second outing since undergoing thyroid surgery in 2000. The surgery, which took place after doctors detected cancer, left Stewart unable to sing for several months.

Stewart's latest album, "The Great American Songbook: Volume II," surfaced in October. The set, which is Stewart's second collection of pop standards, features his renditions of "I'm in the Mood for Love," "Smile," "As Time Goes By," "I Only Have Eyes for You," "Someone to Watch Over Me," "Til' There was You" and "Bewitched, Bothered, and Bewildered," a duet with Cher.

"Volume II" is the follow-up to 2002's "It Had To Be You ... The Great American Songbook," which sold more than 4 million copies worldwide, according to Stewart's camp.
