Eric Clapton tips his cap to one of his biggest influences, Robert Johnson, on the forthcoming album "Me & Mr. Johnson."
The March 23 release will feature 14 tracks, including "Love in Vain," "Hellhound on My Trail" and "Little Queen of Spades."
Guitarists Doyle Bramhall II and Andy Fairweather Low, bassist Nathan East, keyboard player Billy Preston and drummer Steve Gadd all play on the album.
Teen star Hilary Duff , singer/songwriter Ashanti and R&B artist Usher will headline the NBA All-Star Read to Achieve Celebration, a one-hour television special that airs on Feb. 14 at noon Eastern Time.
The show--which will also star NBA players including LeBron James, Carmelo Anthony, Baron Davis, Mike Dunleavy Jr. and Corey Maggette, as well as various WNBA stars--will be simulcast on ABC, TNT, BET, Nick GAS and NBA TV, as well as various other outlets.
According to a press release, Read to Achieve was launched in 2001, and "is a year-round, league-wide initiative supported by all NBA, WNBA and National Basketball Development League (NBDL) teams that promotes the value of reading and on-line literacy and encourages families and adults to read regularly with young children."
Country singer Tim McGraw has recorded a song for the animated Walt Disney Pictures film "Home on the Range," which hits theaters on April 2.
The song, titled "Wherever The Trail May Lead, was recorded in Los Angeles last summer, according to a press release. Bonnie Riatt and K.D. Lang also turn up on the soundtrack.
Among the actors who voiced characters for the movie were Roseanne Barr, Judi Dench, Jennifer Tilly, Randy Quaid and Cuba Gooding Jr.
Grammy-nominated Cuban musicians Ibrahim Ferrer of Buena Vista Social Club, Barbaritio Torres and Amadito Valdes reportedly have been denied visas to enter the U.S. for Sunday's (2/8) Grammy ceremonies.
Cuban officials told Reuters that their visas were denied under U.S. regulations that bar people who might represent a security threat from entering the country.
Singer Faith Evans and her husband agreed on Wednesday (Feb. 4) to enter a drug rehabilitation program. If they complete a 13-week program, the drug possession charges filed against them in January will be dropped, according to published reports.
