Slipknot makes tour plans as work on new album continues

Slipknot [ tickets ] heads out this spring atop the roster of the Jagermeister Music Tour, a run that will also feature Fear Factory [ tickets ] and Chimaira [ tickets ].

The trio of Roadrunner Records artists is due to launch the run in late March, and will play a mix of clubs and theaters through the middle of May.

The outing takes place prior to the release of Slipknot's forthcoming album, due out this summer. The group is currently holed up in Los Angeles' Houdini Mansion, where they're working on the set with producer Rick Rubin.

The new album is the follow-up to 2001's "Iowa."

Fear Factory's latest album, "Archetype," is due in stores on April 20. The group recorded the set in Los Angeles with engineer Ken Marshall.

Chimaira is backing its sophomore release for Roadrunner Records, "The Impossibility of Reason," which surfaced last May. In July, Roadrunner reissued the set with the bonus track "Army of Me."
