Metallica nails down more dates for second North American leg
Dates continue to surface for the second leg of Metallica 's upcoming North American road trip with fellow rockers Godsmack .
About a dozen second-leg dates are now confirmed, beginning with an April 20 show at New York's Nassau Coliseum. Tickets for a couple of second-leg dates are on sale now, with most set to hit the box office this weekend. Details appear below.
The itinerary--which also includes a first leg that kicks off in Phoenix on March 2--will continue to grow, according to Metallica's website. The group plans to play more than 70 North American shows this year.
The tour supports Metallica's latest album, last June's "St. Anger." On Sunday (2/8), the album's title track won the Grammy for Best Metal Performance.
Boston-based rock quartet Godsmack released its latest album, "Faceless," last April, and will deliver "The Other Side"--an acoustic set featuring new cuts and acoustic renditions of previously released hits--on March 18.
"We've always wanted to make a record like this," frontman Sully Erna said in a statement. "It gives us a chance to spread our wings a little bit and offer the fans something different. I think they'll be pleasantly surprised by it."
Erna produced the album, and "Faceless" producer David Bottrill mixed the set.
