Dylan tour inches South, East and West
Bob Dylan is expected to join The Dead, Dave Matthews, Los Lobos and dozens of other acts in this year's Bonnaroo Festival, running June 11-13 in Manchester, TN.
Ticketing information and a confirmed artist listing will be announced Friday (2/13) via the festival's official site.
The tour stop is one of several filling out Dylan's late-winter/spring itinerary, which will now kick off Feb. 28 in Tulsa, OK. The Midwest run of the tour has been padded with the addition of two shows in Chicago, where Dylan and his band will now hit three separate venues on three consecutive days.
Milwaukee has added a second date, and an April show has been added at Washington, DC's Bender Arena. Tickets for DC, Tulsa and the third date in Chicago are scheduled to go on sale this weekend, according to Dylan's official site, which is distributing passwords for online pre-sales in most cities.
Dylan's professional and personal life have drawn Hollywood interest, according to a Billboard.com report, which indicates that a feature-film biography is in early development at Paramount Pictures. The concept under discussion would reportedly feature up to seven actors, possibly including a woman, portraying Dylan, who has agreed to cooperate and license his music for the project.
Separately, director Martin Scorsese is said to be planning a documentary on Dylan's career. Scorsese's film "The Last Waltz" chronicled the final concert performance of The Band in 1976, and was re-released in 2002 on DVD with additional footage and remixed audio tracks.
