Jars of Clay set to launch ambitious U.S. tour

Grammy-winning act Jars of Clay kicks off a new round of U.S. concert dates next week to back its latest album, "Who We Are Instead."

The Tennessee-based Christian-pop quartet gets things started with a two-night stand in Fletcher, NC, on Feb. 23-24, and dates are currently scattered through late July.

Titled "Who We Are Instead," Jars of Clay's sixth album landed in stores last November, and features the single is titled "Show You Love." The band self-produced the set with additional help from Ron Aniello (Lifehouse, Guster, Barenaked Ladies) and Mitch Dane (Billy Cervemy, Jonathan Noel).

"We were excited to just sit in a room and re-embrace the simple acoustic process that got us started," singer Dan Haseltine said in a statement. "What has emerged, we hope, is an album that is organic and souldful and an honest expression of the things we believe."

Jars of Clay broke into the mainstream rock scene with the hit "Flood." The single helped the group sell more than two million copies of its self-titled 1995 album. The group's follow-up set, 1997's "Much Afraid," won a Grammy for Best Contemporary Gospel Album.

This week, the band received multiple nominations for this year's Dove Awards, which the Gospel Music Association will hand out in April.
