Linkin Park, Korn, Snoop Dogg join forces for summer tour
The triple-bill will kick off on July 23 and wrap up on Sept. 6, according to organizers; the confirmed itinerary and additional acts will be announced soon.
"It's an amazing feeling to experience an artist's music live, standing right there in the same room as the person who wrote the songs," Linkin Park vocalist Mike Shinoda said in a statement, "... and I think that these three headline-quality acts will show the Projekt Revolution crowd what a powerful feeling that can be."
The Projekt Revolution outing follows Linkin Park's current world tour in support of last year's "Meteora"; the run, which also features Hoobatank and Story of the Year, wraps up next month.
With sales exceeding 4 million copies in the U.S., "Meteora" was the best-selling rock album of 2003, according to Warner Bros. Records. "Hybrid Theory," Linkin Park's 2000 debut, has sold 15 million copies worldwide, and was the best-selling album of 2001.
Korn is backing its sixth studio album--and first self-produced set--last November's "Take a Look In the Mirror." The collection features the cut "Did My Time," which was among this year's Grammy nominees for Best Metal Performance.
Snoop Dogg is gearing up to release two new albums this year. The first will feature Snoop, Warren G and Nate Dogg, who are collaborating under the name 213; the second will be Snoop's follow-up to 2002's "Paid tha Cost to Be da Boss." Release dates remain pending.
