Girls Against Boys, Enon Hook Up For Short Tour
D.C. dirty-guitar band Girls Against Boys are teaming with ex-Brainiac John Schmersal's new band Enon for a nine-city tour of the eastern U.S. and Canada.
Girls Against Boys are still touring in support of 1998's "Freak*On*Ica," the band's first album for Geffen after several discs for Touch and Go. Band members have been working on side projects recently: bassist Johnny Temple and guitarist Scott McCloud have been creating a new album with their band New Wet Kojak, and keyboardist Eli Janney is working on funk remix projects with jungle artist Steve Raskin.
Joining the tour is Enon, which recently added bassist Toko Yasada (Blonde Redhead) to its sonic triad of John Schmersal's guitars, Rick Lee's get-anything sound samples and Steve Calhoon's junk percussion. The band has been tightening up the presentation of material from its debut album "Believo!" (SeeThru Broadcasting).
