Briefly: Paul McCartney, Montgomery Gentry, Ides of March, Bobby Brown
Paul McCartney will play concerts at stadiums throughout Europe in May and June, including seven cities he's never played before.
According to McCartney's official website, his setlist will feature a mix of music from The Beatles, Wings and his solo career.
Headlining shows are planned for Gijon, Spain (5/25); Madrid (5/30); Zurich (6/2); Leipzig, Germany (6/4); Prague (6/6); Horsens, Denmark (6/8); Gothenburg, Sweden (6/12); Oslo (6/14); Helsinki (6/17); St. Petersburg, Russia (6/20); and Paris (6/24).
He'll also perform at Lisbon's Rock in Rio festival and at the U.K.'s Glastonbury Festival.
Montgomery Gentry will issue their fourth Columbia Records album, "You Do Your Thing," on May 18. A companion DVD of the same name will precede it, hitting stores on April 20.
The album's first single, "If You Ever Stop Living Me," is already getting airplay on country radio stations.
Chicago band Ides of March, best known for their 1970 No. 1 hit "Vehicle," will celebrate their 40th anniversary with a March 13 concert at the Arcada Theater in St. Charles, IL. According to a press release, the band still sports its original line-up.
The group recently expanded its summer-only tour schedule to year-round road work.
A judge has reportedly sentenced Bobby Brown to 60 days in jail for violating probation. Brown is on probation in connection with a 1996 drunk-driving charge, which he pleaded guilty to in 2003.
Among the five probation violations he faces is a charge that he hit his wife, Whitney Houston, in December. Others include failure to take required drug tests and failure to pay probation fees.
