Linkin Park nails down details of Projekt Revolution tour
Linkin Park has hammered out the itinerary for its third Projekt Revolution tour, which also features Korn , Snoop Dogg and newly added act The Used .
The run kicks off in Cincinnati on July 23, and touches down at amphitheatres throughout the U.S. until early September. Ticket prices will range from $35.50 to $49.50, "plus applicable parking and service charges," according to a press release. Various fan-club and online ticket pre-sales will occur before tickets are available to the general public. Additional details weren't available at press time.
The Used is the latest addition to the roster, but not the last, according to Linkin Park frontman Chester Bennington.
"The Used coming out with us this summer just adds to what I think is the best tour out there," Bennington said in a statement. "Our fans are going to get a great festival with all these huge bands ... and we aren't even done adding all of the bands yet."
Linkin Park's first Projekt Revolution tour took place in 2002, and featured Cypress Hill, Adema and DJ Z-Trip. Last year's edition included Xzibit, Mudvayne and Blindside.
The Projekt Revolution outing follows Linkin Park's current North American tour tour in support of last year's "Meteora"; the run--which also features P.O.D., Hoobastank and Story of the Year--wraps in Atlanta tomorrow night (3/6).
The quadruple-platinum "Meteora" was the best-selling rock album of 2003, according to Warner Bros. Records. "Hybrid Theory," Linkin Park's 2000 debut, has sold 15 million copies worldwide, and was the best-selling album of 2001.
Korn is backing its sixth studio album--and first self-produced set--last November's "Take a Look in the Mirror." The collection features the cut "Did My Time," which was among this year's Grammy nominees for Best Metal Performance.
Snoop Dogg is gearing up to release two new albums this year. The first will feature Snoop, Warren G and Nate Dogg, who are collaborating under the name 213; the second will be Snoop's follow-up to 2002's "Paid tha Cost to Be da Boss." Release dates remain pending.
Utah's The Used released its self-titled debut in June of 2002. A follow-up set is due out early his summer.
